Also nearby Phuket is the small city of Krabi Town which offers an authentic look into a real Thai city that doesn’t thrive off of just tourism. From here, you can head off to nearby Ao Nang Beach, Railay Beach and Ton Sai Beach which are some of the best in the country. Railay Beach is actually still on the mainland but you have to take a longtail boat to get there from Ao Nang or Krabi Town because it is surrounded by thick limestone cliffs and there is no road the goes there.
